How much time do you spend clothes shopping and do you enjoy it?
Did you know that spending time trawling shops to find the outfits that you feel comfortable in may not be the most enjoyable or best use of your time. This is not because it takes a long time to find the right item or get the best price or find the perfect quality that you are looking for.
The reason that you may be wasting your time is because you don’t enjoy shopping for clothes, and it becomes a stress when you do it.
A study by Mintel found that 44% of women hate shopping.
Clothes shopping is a very visual experience. Walking through racks of clothing, one’s eyes will take in the colours and styles and the variety. The sense of touch then acts as a second opinion as you run your hands over the fabric.
But what happens if you struggle with the visual cues when shopping?
We process information in different ways. The way you learn is a great indication of how you process information. Here are the seven learning types and how the shops cater for each learning type.
Depending on the way you learn and process information coming in you will find that shopping may not be an ideal activity for you to spend your time doing. It will likely lead to frustration. It won’t deliver the results that you are looking for. Although you have spent a small fortune you may feel that you still have nothing to wear.
Being aware of your learning type and how that impacts your shopping is important to be able to make a mental shift and actively process the information you deal with while shopping. Which may be in a different way from your normal.
Or you may choose to hire a personal shopper who will just do it for you.
