Ideas for three Valentines Outfits.
Tis the season to have Date Night. But what to wear? Jeans again?? Something from the office with a pair of heels? Same old same old?
Here are three different styles of outfit that you could wear for dining in, going out with friends, treating your spouse to an evening out or even on a first date!!
Beautiful blouse, elegant trousers and fancy shoes.
This is one of my favourite outfit formulas for going out and looking lovely, but still relaxed. I have chosen a pair of chino style jeans – as in fitted around the waist and bottom and looser in the legs. A looser pair of jeans like this can look very elegant and relaxed in contrast to a pair of very skinny jeans. These pants are best worn rolled at the cuff and with a nice belt.
The fancy blouse plus the shoes elevate the trousers. These trousers are timeless and worn with sneakers and a t, they are relaxed and casual, but when paired with the blouse and gold shoes they are dressy casual. I recommend a pretty top in a shade that suits you with the right level of warmth that you will need. Remember you can always pop on a coat or jacket if needed.
Pairing an elegant pair of heels with the cuffed chinos is unexpected and pleasant. In a colder climate a sock bootie could do the same job, providing an elegant silhouette.
I like the large earrings because they are bold, they can be used to inject colour and they add a fun level of dressiness to the outfit. They are also a bit cheeky somehow!

A princess or fairy dress
I am a bit in love with this dress. Actually with just about everything that linennaive.com makes. Their clothes are beautifully and romantically designed and styled. Lovely drapey linen blends in an amazing array of colours, wool and cashmere coats as well. Perfect for going all out in a very period look or combining with modern accessories to get a very personal aesthetic. But this is digression. Linnenaive are slow fashion and as I have not personally ordered from them I checked some online reviews on independent blogger’s sites review sites and the write ups were positive. Any hoo, onto the dress. It is beautiful and light and floaty and elegant. Good for an elegant feminine vibe. It could be dressed up or down. Here I have paired it with jewellery handmade by a small company in Melbourne Australia. The necklace is made from a vintage piece and restyled into a necklace. The earrings are beautifully crafted and I felt that their vintage handmade not mass-produced feel suited the linennaive dress perfectly. The pashmina is for a bit of warmth around the shoulders and a multicoloured tasseled clutch adds a fun element. The shoes offer a fun colour contrast and would be comfortable for a heel.

A city dress
This is an outfit with a definite city feel. Perfect for dinner on a balcony or a fancy restaurant. The ruffles are very flattering and give soft definition to all body shapes without being clingy. The sparkly heels give it extra oomph, but you can always opt for something lower! The resin clutch is sleek and fabulous looking. And if it’s cool the leather jacket will keep you warm while looking cool. It comes in a range of colours and is made by another fabulous Australian company, wanderer travel co. I have one of their handbags and it is beautifully made and tough.
So get your creative juices flowing and have a great Valentine’s. And if you have no valentine at the moment? Dress up for you! Because it’s fun and you are worth it.
